What does "I'm Third" mean?
At Kanakuk, we instill the “I’m Third” mentality: God first, others second, and ourselves third. Kampers learn the value of servant leadership at Kanakuk, following Christ’s example of humility, truth, and love. Each overnight camp offers a fun-filled balance of both faith- and athletic-development, with sports and adventures led by college athletes. Our coaches have both athletic ability and Christlike character to ensure each Kamper gets the best of sports and spiritual growth, providing a one-of-a-kind summer camp experience. We encourage you to take advantage of the resources on this site which are designed for the purpose of encouraging growth in your relationship with Christ as well as servant-minded leadership.

THE I'M THIRD STORY
Every summer at Kanakuk we’re able to witness lives changed by Jesus Christ as leaders are made, Kampers grow in maturity, and ultimately go home refreshed and encouraged in their walk with Jesus. One of the foundations of our teaching at Kanakuk is the I’m Third lifestyle: God First, Others Second, I’m Third.
Johnny Ferrier was a pilot who made a living performing air stunts at air shows all over the United States. Johnny was a Kanakuk Kamper who learned about the “I’m Third” philosophy while at Kamp. It greatly impacted the way he lived his life and carried his I’m Third card in his wallet wherever he went.
